The IMPULSE AREF2 is a handcrafted four-channel power amplifier designed for listeners who value the natural character, energy, and musicality of high-quality analogue sound. Its robust power supply, discrete output stage, and carefully selected audio-grade components deliver clean dynamics, strong transient response, and controlled loudspeaker performance.
Rated at 150 watts per channel into 4 ohms and 180 watts per channel into 2 ohms, the AREF2 provides enough flexibility to drive a complete front-and-rear speaker system. It can also operate in bridged mode, producing up to 320 watts per channel for more demanding component speakers or subwoofers.
With total harmonic distortion below 0.05% and a signal-to-noise ratio above 90 dB, the amplifier is engineered to preserve musical detail while maintaining a quiet background. Its wide 200 mV–6 V input-sensitivity range allows easy integration with factory head units, aftermarket receivers, DSP processors, and high-output source units.
Internally, the AREF2 features a substantial dual-transformer power supply, discrete power transistors, and premium components sourced from the USA and Japan.
